Day Nineteen

Your Favorite Quote.

I have lots, but here's a good one.  I've had this posted up on my wall where I can see it frequently for 3 years.  I love it:

"Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.  Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.  Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best.  Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.  Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.  Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!"

Day Sixteen

In light of Mother's Day tomorrow, I am going to change this topic to celebrate that.

Here is a picture of my beautiful Mom!

Francine Faerber Thompson.  I just love her SO much!  And on this Mother's Day weekend I just want to post my appreciation and gratitude for everything she does for me.  She is always happy, patient, loving, kind, cheerful, strong, beautiful, and fun to be around.  She brings a smile to the face of every person she sees.  I have learned so much from her and I hope one day I can have some of the amazing qualities she has.  I am so blessed to have such a wonderful Mother, and I'm grateful for Mother's Day, giving us a chance to really remember how wonderful Mom's are!

I love you Mom!!!!

Day Fifteen

Something I ate today.

CEREAL!!!!!

Brock's favorite cereal- He mixes together....

And My favorite cereal...  I mix together:

Or, I will do Cocoa Roos with my Honey Nut Scooters.  But today, it was Honey Graham Squares :)

Confession, I am totally addicted to cereal.  I seriously hate days when I don't get to eat it, and I will NEVER let us run out of milk.  If we do, it's the end of the world.  Hahaha.  Hooray for Cereal!

Day Fourteen

Someone who fascinates you and why.

J. K. Rowling fascinates me.  It fascinates me how her mind works!  She created this entire other world, making it seem totally realistic, to the very detail of the names of what coins they use!  I seriously think she is brilliant.  And the way that she tied every single detail together so perfectly in the very last book, making it end at Hogwarts even though they weren't there anymore, and twisting and surprising along the way, but ending it so beautifully, is amazing to me.  I am not a writer, nor a book critic, but I have never read anything more brilliant in my life!

Day Twelve

Your highs and lows of the past year.

Hmm.  I seriously sat here trying to think of any significant "lows" we had this past year, and honestly couldn't think of any!  We have been so blessed and had such a fabulous year.  So I'm going to say, Highlights of the past year! :-)

May 2010 - May 2011 (Year 2 of Brock and Aubrey's marriage)

- We went to Lava Hot Springs for our 2nd Anniversary!

- Brock got promoted twice in his job and is doing super well!

- Aubrey was the Relief Society President for the entire school year.

- Brock was given the "Rising Star" award for his company at the Christmas Party

- Aubrey had her Senior Voice Recital in November

- We went to the beautiful exotic Nicaragua over New Years and it was incredible!

- Brock performed in a band for a couple of shows at the Iron Gate Grill

- Aubrey began teaching private piano/voice lessons - currently at 19 students!!

- Jake Thompson left on a mission, Emily Thompson got baptized, and Heather Taylor got a mission call!

- We have had fun camping, playing sports, fishing, eating ice cream, playing video games, throwing parties, going on bike rides, exploring in the canyons- off-roading in the truck and hiking, rodeos and demo derbys, and playing with family!

It's been a great year two and we're excited for the adventures that lie ahead!
